Grigori by Lauren Smith

Madelyn Haynes was adopted as a child and grew up with loving parents.  She always knew she was different.  When it rained, she dreamed of dragons.  For the last five years, she has been a professor of medieval mythology, reading and researching dragons.  She has been given her a three-month sabbatical to pursue her theory.  Madelyn has come to Russia to prove that theory in the Russian State Library.  She discovers a book that pictures of a handsome man and the dragon she has dreamed about.

Grigori Barinov is the oldest in an ancient line of dragon shifters.  He is sworn to protect their history and magic.  He is notified that a nosy American has requested the book that shows proof of dragons existence.  Grigori must protect his family at all costs even when her intoxicating scent attracts him to her.  After his brother kills the son of their rival family, Gregori must battle his father.  Can Gregori protect Madelyn?

I have read Lauren Smith's historical novels and liked them, so I decided to take a chance on Grigori.  I loved it!  Shifters are one of my guilty pleasured and Grigori was perfect.  I loved the setting and the characters.  It was a well-written book.  I can't wait for the next book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.  Thank you!
