Forever and a Duke by Grace Burrowes

I stopped reading this book at 40% because I just couldn’t go further.  The story is about Eleanora Hatfield and the Duke of Elsmore.  Eleanora has a ludicrous past is the reason why she is so good as an auditor at a bank.  Then there is a sub plot with her sister and a cousin.  There were way too many people involved and too many lines for the plot to keep track of.

The Princess Plan by Julia London

I loved the mix of romance and mystery combined with a Prince that falls in love with a woman that has embraced being a spinster.  I enjoyed the fairytale ending and a Prince who defied convection.

The Duke's Desire by Erica Ridley

This is the book I was waiting for!  I loved Lucien le Duc.  He was the backbone of the family that was forced to flee France during the revolution.  His one goal is to earn enough money to return to France.  Meg Church loves living in Cressmouth.  While she enjoys the freedom of being a spinster, she has a secret thing for the local blacksmith, Lucien le Duc.

I loved the sparks that fly between Meg and Lucien from when they bump into each other outside of the library.  The passion grows as Meg helps Lucien learn English so he can communicate with the new members of his family.

Alexander is surprised to find a wallflower has announced she is engaged to him.  He hasn't been in the ton in years.  He decides to meet Kitty to see what kind of a person she is.  Kitty is shocked to find that the Duke wants to meet her.  Once they meet, Alexander decides that he has to have her and the sparks fly!

I have always loved Stacy Reid's books.  This one did not disappoint.  I loved the dynamic between Kitty and Alexander.  I liked how Kitty pulls Alexander out of his reclusiveness and loves him for who he is.

The Duke's Embrace by Erica Ridley

I absolutely loved Eve and Sebastien's story!  Sebastien struggles with wanting to return home to France and his budding relationship with local journalist Eve Shelling.  This was a perfect Christmas novella!

Seduction on a Snowy Night by Mary Jo Putney; Madeline Hunter; Sabrina Jeffries

I enjoyed this Christmas anthology.  All three books were well written and I enjoyed reading them.  My favorite was One Wicked Winter Night by Mary Jo Putney that featured a second chance romance for two people that were torn apart when they were younger.  I liked that Diana and Anthony were older.

I also enjoyed A Perfect Match by Sabrina Jeffries.  Cass does not want anyone in the ton to know that she has a fortune so her cousin can find her husband first.  When an unscrupulous fortune hunter is after cousin Kitty, Cass will do anything to protect her.  Lord Heywood Wolfe was sent by Kitty's brother to let her know about the fortune hunter.   Heywood takes Kitty and Cass to his estate and slowly starts to realize that Cass is the one who has been writing the letters.  I enjoyed Kitty and Heywood's HEA and wish the book was longer.

This Earl of Mine by Kate Bateman

Georgiana Caversteed is desperate to keep her fortune and herself out of her cousin's hands.  She comes up with the perfect solution: a marriage without a husband.  Georgie marries a condemned criminal in Newgate prison.  After the first heated kiss from her groom, she never expects to see him again until she spots him in a crowded ballroom. Benedict Wylde was undercover in Newgate working for Bow Street and never expected to be forced into a marriage.  He is a second son who is helping his brother with the disastrous financial state of the estate.  He starts courting Georgie in public only to find that sparks start to fly.  Can they make their unusual start of a marriage work?

This is the first book in the Bow Street Bachelors series.  I liked the characters.  Georgie was a strong heroine that was attempting to protect her family business from her nasty cousin.  Benedict is a war hero that is attempting to help his brother.  I liked the attraction between them.
