In the Spinster's Bed by Sally MacKenzie

"In the Spinster's Bed" is a romantic start to the "Spinster House" series.  Twenty years ago, Lord William Wattles encountered Bell Frost in a Grecian folly on his father's estate reading "Fanny Hill" by candlelight.   That started their brief yet torrid affair that lasted until William's father got him re-admitted to school.  Bell was left pregnant and that wasn't the thing to do for a vicar's daughter.

Now, twenty years later, Bell is known as Annabelle Frost and is living in Spinster House in village of Loves Bridge as the librarian.  William is attempting to escape London and the scandal his wife is causing.

After twenty years, will they finally find happiness?

I am a huge fan of Sally MacKenzie.  I was not disappointed with "In the Spinster's Bed."  The characters were well drawn.  I felt so bad for William and how empty his life was.  Bell was a character the you would want to be friends with.  The animals, in this case, Poppy the cat, always add comic relief to the novels.  I just wish there was some sort of confrontation scene between Bell and her father after she got her HEA.

I received this ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.  Thank you very much!!!
