The story spans some 40 years and tells the story of Thérèse Angelique Bouchard otherwise known as Madame de Maitenon and her survival during the French Revolution and her love for Gérard Antoine Tolbert, the Duke of Andelot. There is passion and depth in the characters with a love of a lifetime.
