The Billionaire's Demands

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley.  I honestly attempted to read the book.  I got through the prologue and hoped it would get better.  There was way too much detail on the magazine that Keira and Camryn fight to be able to run.  By the time I got through chapter one, I felt like I was walking into the movie half way and was missing way too much background information.  I just was lost and had to keep re-reading to figure out what I was missing.  This book just did not hold my interest.  I honestly did not know who the main male and female characters were.  There were just too many other characters thrown at me during the first chapter.

I know this is an ARC, but on EVERY page, there was the publisher's watermark.  It was extremely distracting and broke the flow of reading.

Nina Tempted the Lord by Kelly Hunter

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley and I didn't realize that it was a novella or part of a series.  I rarely read either.

Seven years ago, Nina Monreau left home to pursue her dream as a dancer and a boy.  She ended up with the Night Circus as a performer.  Two years ago, Alexander Carradice joined as the finance director.  Now, Nina's sister Honey is getting married and Nina is the Maid of Honor.  She needs to bring a date.  Alex ends up agreeing to drive Nina home to Bellefleur.  During the road trip, they take their relationship from friends to lovers.  Apparently, Alex has had a thing for Nina even though he has slept around quite a bit in the two years.

I normally read historicals, so at the end of the book when it is revealed that Alex's father has just come into a title, I caught a very glaring mistake that should have been caught by an editor.  Nina's father has just called Alex "Lord Carradice" and Alex explains "It's a courtesy title on account of my father having been recently been made a duke of the realm."  Down the page, Alex explains that "My uncle was the Earl of Dinstable." 

Quite honestly, I didn't like Nina's sister, Honey.  I found her to be the stereotypical Southern Bell.  I kept picturing Scarlet O'Hara.  There was only one sex scene and it wasn't much. 

All in all, I thought this novella to be so-so and won't look to find the others on NetGalley.

Sinfully Yours by Cara Elliott

Another wonderful read from Cara Elliott!  The second book in "The Hellions of High Street" series gives a strong heroine in Anna Slone.  The hero Devlin Greville, Marquess of Davenport is known in Society as the Devil. 

Thanks to her sister's marriage, Anna and her family are no longer poor as church mice and have been invited to attend a house party given in Scotland by one of her mother's old school friends.  Anna agrees to attend so she can write in solitude.  Yes, Anna is the writer of the ton's favorite sensational novels, Sir Sharpe Quill and she has writers block with a deadline looming.  Devlin has blown through his family fortune and is working at rebuilding it (or so he has let the ton believe).  He is attending the house party at the request (and payment) of the Home Office to ensure a German relative of the king remains alive. 

I loved Anna discovering that Devlin isn't what he wants Society to believe he is.  And, how Devlin slowly let Anna in.

In the first book, Scandalously Yours, we see more of the older sisters, Olivia and Anna because Caro is not out in Society yet.  There is a bond between Olivia and Anna from Scandalously yours that we don't see between Anna and Caro.  It was missed.

One Rogue Too Many by Samantha Grace

This was a great start to a series.  I loved the characters and found myself routing for the hero in the novel.

Lady Gabrielle Forest has loved Anthony Keaton, Earl of Ellis since they were children and he called her Bug (which evolved into Lady Bug).  He has had some unfinished business to take care of and in his absence from Town, Lord Sebastian Thorne is sniffing around Gabrielle. Baron Thorne will do anything to have Gabrielle including telling lies about Sebastian and compromising Gabrielle.

This is a must have read and once you are done reading it, it will go on you "to read again" shelf!

I give it five out of five stars.

Sugar & Salt by Pavarti K Tyler

This is the first book in a long time that I am flat out calling a DNF.  For some reason, I just could not get into the book or enjoy it.  I found the book flat and the wording very odd.  Books should flow and this book didn't.  I just don't know what it was or how to describe it more, but it was just oddly written.
