Lord Zachary Nash, Marquess of Hawkridge, was in love with Faith Digby. He is determined to marry her and they share a night of passion. Instead of her beloved meeting with her father to ask for her hand in marriage, she receives a letter saying that their relationship is over. In one night, he went from a young man in love to a man having to salvage the mess his father left the estate in.
Ironically, in the ten years since Hawk saw Faith, her father made a small fortune in business and Hawk is forced to go into trade to salvage his estate.
I was in the groove, loving this book and how Hawk and Faith were rebuilding their relationship. I liked how Hawk was working hard to salvage his family's estate. Then, I discovered Hawk had gotten Faith pregnant on that one night. I started to dislike Hawk. At the end of the novel, while Faith and Hawk got their HEA, I despised both of them. They both continued to lie to sweet Christina and not tell her the truth about her parentage.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
