Stirring Up the Sheriff by Leslie North

Marianne Stanton has bought her Aunt's Honky Tonk and is turning it into a brewpub.  Sheriff Trent Wild doesn't want his favorite bar to change.

I normally love Leslie North's books.  However, this one fell flatter than a beer left out on Marianne's bar.  I could not connect with Marianne or Trent.  Even Sabrina's walk-through in the beginning of the book felt off.

Obsession by Calista Fox

Obsession is the fourth book in the Bayfront Billionaires series.  Roxy Shea is an artist on the run from an abusive relationship.  She meets Nick Faulkner who owns a movie studio and has an instant attraction.  Nick's best friend, Hunter Valens, has returned after several years away while he researched a book.  When Roxy meets him, she is also attracted to him.  Since menage relationships are becoming common among their friends, Roxy, Nick and Hunter begin a menage relationship.

For me, this book fell flat and felt very forced.  I just did not enjoy reading it.

Cougar Bait by Evangeline Anderson

Samantha Becker is a trauma surgeon who's life revolves around her career.  Her sister has recently discovered she has the special Shifter Gene.  Samantha is positive she does not have the Gene and doesn't want to be part of the Shifter life.  Liam Keller is an Alpha cougar and the mayor of Cougarville.  Liam has discovered that Samantha is his mate.

Liam isn't willing to let Samantha go and will protect her from the person who is stalking her.  When things start heating up between Samantha and Liam can he keep her safe and still have his mate?

This is the second book in the series and I loved it!  I like the author's shifter world.  The "juvie" and Shifter Gene made both books dynamic.  Liam was a supporting character in the first book.  I liked that he got his own book.  I loved the characters.

The Billionaire's Virgin by Jackie Ashenden

Xavier De Dantis has one goal - to get his mother's ranch in Wyoming.  He works for his father's company and when he is ordered to clean up his image, he volunteers at a homeless shelter.  Mia is on the streets, homeless, after escaping from her mean grandmother's house.  Mia wants an apartment of her own and a job.  She is being held back because she doesn't have any information to get any identification.

Mia is leery when she meets Xavier.  Can she let Xavier through her defenses when he offers a safe home?

This was a great read.  I enjoyed the characters and admired Mia's spirit.

Her Favorite Duke (The 1797 Club) by Jess Michaels

Margaret Rylon has loved her brother Jame's best friend as long as she can remember.  Simon Greene, Duke of Crestwood has always been by her side.  After their father dies, James arranges a marriage for Meg to another friend, Graham Everly, the Duke of Northfield.  As her brother pushes her to set the wedding date, Meg becomes more upset.  After Meg and Simon are trapped in a cottage overnight during a storm, Simon is forced to marry Meg.

Due to guilt, Simon becomes cold.  Can he fix their relationship and regain their passion before their marriage is destroyed.

Jess Michaels is one of my favorite authors.  I love her erotic historical books and have been waiting for this novel since I read "The Daring Duke".  I was hoping that Meg and Simon would get their HEA.

Once I started reading this book, I didn't stop.  I was hooked.  There were times I wanted to shake Simon and tell him to talk to James and make him understand how much he loved Meg.  I also wanted to yell at James for being the only one in their friend group that didn't realize that Meg and Simon had feelings for each other.

So, now I am waiting for Graham to find his HEA.  I love this series!

Blaze by Donna Grant

Blaze is book 11 in the Dark Kings series.  I love Donna Grant's story telling.  I feel like I was dropped into the world.  There were parts of the book that I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen next.  The characters are great.  I loved how Anson found his HEA.

Healing the Quarterback by Leslie North

Healing the Quarterback is the second in the Wildhorse Ranch Brothers Series.  Charlie Wild is the starting quarterback for the Texas Teamsters.  Women are always fawning over him and Charlie is like a kid in a candy store.  After a season ending injury, the Teamsters demand that Charlie overhaul his reputation by recuperating in his home town.  His doctor is Dylan Rose, the woman that he met and blew off before his final game.

Dylan Rose is passionate about medication and her patients.  She left Houston for the quieter paced Lockhart Bend because she was tired of the high profile stars she kept fixing.  When she is told that she will have to help Charlie Wild with his rehabilitation, she wants to get him healed and watch his hot ass walk our the door.

I absolutely loved the interactions between Charlie and Rose.  Their flirting and banter throughout the book kept the action going.  I love Charlie Wild.
